Probably Everything You Need to Know – 30th Celebration

The 30th Celebration will be the first set that Simplified Chinese Pokémon will release that will be simultaneous with both the English and Eastern releases on 16 September 2026. This set will feature 30 reprinted cards from across the different eras over the past 30 years.

Just think about this for a minute. Pokémon, first launched on 27 February 1996 as Pocket Monsters Red and Green it has certainly come far, and changed in ways nobody back then could have ever imagined.

That little red-and-white ball opened the door to something extraordinary, and three decades later the journey is still going strong. From catching our first Pokémon to battling, trading, collecting and exploring, Pokémon has become part of countless childhoods, and now adulthoods too. 30 years has seen generations of trainers growing up with Pokémon and a whole new generation discovering the magic for themselves.

So, whether you’ve been a Trainer since the very beginning or you’ve only recently joined the adventure, there’s never been a better time to celebrate Pokémon!

Tell us what your first Pokémon memory was, or what moment said to you this is part of my life now and I’m never looking away…

30th Anniversary Celebration Booster Pack

30th Celebration Booster Pack - Simplified Chinese Pokemon

Each Booster will contain 6 cards (as seen on the top right corner of the pack above). Each pack will contain one Pikachu card (more about that down below…). Unlike previous Simplified Chinese Pokémon releases, there will be no “Jumbo” and “Slim” pack release.

New Rarity Unlocked!

A new Rarity of FUR (Futuristic Rare) has been revealed and is illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN (real name: Yoshiro Suzuk). This is his debut as a Pokémon TCG artist. He has illustrated the Pikachu, Mew, Mewtwo and all the Basic Energy cards. Not too sure about calling these fur cards – might give people the wrong idea. You get fleas and ticks in fur after all?

Pika Pika!

30 (notice a theme here?! 👀) of the main set cards from the 30th Anniversary Celebration set will include newly illustrated Pikachus! Each Pikachu will be illustrated by a different illustrator. As mentioned above, there will be one Pikachu card in each booster pack.  Each card will be foiled and numbered out of 30 (see bottom left of the card).

Question: How many Pikachu did you say you wanted?

Answer: Yes!

Pikachu 30th Celebration Cards

Day & Night ☀️🌙

Pokémon went with (what we think is) a very cool theme – Day & Night! YOSHIROTTEN also illustrated the FUR cards within the theme. You’ll find Promo Cards, Art Rares, EX Cards, common cards and Gift Boxes all feature this underlying theme.

How many cards will be in this set?

There will be a total of 103 main set cards, this does not include the ARs, FURs , the reprinted cards and Promo cards.

There will be a total of 30 reprinted cards that will showcase some of the well known playable, game changing and fan favourites over the past 30 years. Cards will include Crystal Lugia, Dark Tyranitar, Shining Celebi and a whole lot more. Notably, this will be the first time the Base Set Charizard will be printed in Simplified Chinese!

30th Celebration Products

Phew, now let’s talk products. All of the products listed below will be released 16 September 2026. This is unlike the English products, which will have a staggered release across September, October & November. Do you need another reason to be collecting Simplified Chinese?

The only 30th Celebration products that were released before the global release was the Original Partner Card Set Vol 1, 2 and 3. Which released March 20 (Vol 1), 19 June (Vol 2), and 7 August (Vol 3). These products were the first products to be released before a Japanese release, and a simultaneous release with the English counterpart.

Now. Let’s have a look at the 30th Celebration products that will be releasing 16 September 2026.
